Jack Johnson Surfs into Ford Amphitheatre August 25

Jack Johnson is abandoning his tropical Hawaiian paradise for the summer to head out on a 32-city tour across North America. He’ll be touching down in Tampa’s Ford Amphitheatre for a night of breezy fun on Wednesday, August 25 at 7pm. Johnson is touring in support of his forthcoming album “To the Sea” which makes its debut in stores June 1. Tickets are set to go onsale to the general public on Saturday, April 10 at 10am through Ticketmaster. There are two opportunities to snag advanced tickets. The Jack Johnson Fan Club will be offering a presale through MusicToday on Tuesday, April 6 at 10am and there will also be a radio presale at the same date and time. Jack only graces us with his presence every couple of summers so be sure to catch him before the next drought sets in.

Kings of Leon Rocks Ford Amphitheatre September 18

Nashville rockers Kings of Leon aren’t slowing down their engine one iota as the white-hot band prepares for its coming 32-city trek across North America. The band is slated to be at Ford Amphitheatre on Saturday, September 18 at 7:30pm. For a full listing of KOL tour dates, visit Kings of Leon Tour. The band continues to tour in support of their latest effort “Only by the Night” which was released in September 2008 and has turned platinum four times over.

Tickets for the Tampa date go onsale to the general public through Ticketmaster on Friday, March 19 at 10pm. There will be a presale for Citicard members on Thursday, March 18 at 10am. Ticket prices range from $50.50 to $30.50, and there is an 8 ticket limit per household for this event.

Tim McGraw Brings Kick to Ford Amphitheatre May 7

Tim McGraw is tackling an ambitious 58-city tour which will consume much of 2010 and he has marked Friday, May 7 at 7:30pm as his night to play Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa Bay. McGraw will be touring in support of his latest album “Southern Voice” which has spawned two singles to date (“It’s a Business Doing Pleasure with You” and “Southern Voice”).

Tickets will go onsale for the Tampa date on Friday, March 5 at 10am. For those who belong to the Tim McGraw fan club, you’ll have a chance to snag advanced tickets on Tuesday, March 2 at 10am. Ticket prices range from $65 to $25 for pavilion seating and $25 for the general admission lawn. As always with all events at Ford Amphitheatre, the show will go on whether the weather brings rain or shine.

Tom Petty to Break Hearts at St Pete Forum September 16

Tom Petty is readying his first studio album in 10 years. The album entitled “Mojo” doesn’t have a release date, but that hasn’t stopping Petty from hitting the road to support his coming work. Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers have outlined a 36-city tour that will make its way to Tampa’s St Pete Times Forum on Thursday, September 16 at 7:30pm. Tickets for the St Pete Forum show go onsale to the general public via Ticketmaster on Monday, March 8 at 10am. Fan club members will have a shot at presale tickets on Wednesday, March 3 at 10am as will Citi cardholders who will get access on Friday, March 5 at 10am. Tickets top out at $142.50 for floor and select lower level seating and the nosebleeds will set you back $64.40.

Dave Matthews Returns to Ford Amphitheatre July 28

What summer tour would be complete without a helping of the Dave Matthews Band? They will be making their annual trek through Tampa on Wednesday, July 28 at 7pm playing Ford Amphitheatre. It will be just one stop on a 40-city tour which will carry them through September. The group continues to tour in support of their latest album ‘Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King’ that was nominated for two Grammy Awards. DMB has tabbed an assortment of musicians to help them out on the road including Ben Harper, Zac Brown Band, Gov’t Mule, Brett Dennen and Raphel Saadiq. Tickets go onsale to the general public on Friday, February 26 at 10am. If you weren’t fortunately enough to take advantage of the DMB Warehouse fan club presale, you can still score advanced tickets via the American Express presale on Monday, February 22 at 10am. Jimmy Buffett Parties at Ford Amphitheatre on April 24

Jimmy Buffett is ready to turn Ford Amphitheatre into his own private Margaritaville when he comes to Tampa on Saturday, April 24 at 8pm. His latest tour dubbed “Under the Big Top” supports his latest release “Buffet Hotel.” Never fear, Buffett promises to play all the favorites to help you issue in summer with style. Tickets for the Ford Amphitheatre show go onsale to the general public via Ticketmaster on Saturday, February 20 at 10am. Ticket prices run from $136 to $30 for reserved seating in the pavilion area as well as $30 for general admission lawn seating. As with all events at Lakewood, this event will go on rain or shine. Jimmy Buffett is always a red hot ticket when he comes to the Bay so get up early on Saturday with your favorite fellow parrotheads and secure your tickets.

James Taylor & Carole King at St Pete Times June 6

70s singer-songwriter icons James Taylor and Carole King are joining forces for a world tour in 2010, and they are parking their tour in Tampa at St Pete Times Forum on Friday, June 6 at 8pm. The collaboration brings the pair together who both got their start at the Troubadour in Los Angeles in the early 70s. The duo came up with the idea after playing a tribute concert for the Troubadour’s 50 Anniversary celebration in 2007. Full tour dates for the upcoming trek can be viewed at James Taylor Tour.

Tickets for the St Pete Times Forum concert will go onsale to the general public on Saturday, January 23 at 10 am. There will be a presale for American Express cardholders on Saturday, January 16 at 10 am as well as a Sprint Center presale on Friday, January 22 at 10 am. Ticket prices range from $372.25 for the VIP seating beside the stage to $48.15 for seats in the 300-level of the arena.

Celtic Woman Brings Heart to Progress Center April 18

The Irish vocal ensemble that is Celtic Woman has setup an exhaustive tour for 2010 that includes stops in 75 cities across North America. They will be swinging by St Petersburg’s Mahaffey Theater at Progress Energy Center on Sunday, April 18 at 7:30pm. For a full listing of tour dates, visit Celtic Woman Tour. The group will be touring in support of their upcoming album “Songs from the Heart” which hits stores on January 26. Bon Jovi Takes Control of St Pete Times on April 17

Bon Jovi is due to release his newest hit album “The Circle” on November 10 and the band is fueling the tanks for a 2010-2011 world tour. The tour will set down in Tampa at the St Pete Times Forum on Saturday, April 17 at 7:30pm. Dashboard Confessional has been tapped as musical support to open the show. The tour will serve as the inaugural concert to open the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The band will also play 12 residency dates at the O2 Arena in London. Tickets for the Tampa show go onsale to the general public on Monday, November 16 at 10am. There is an Internet presale scheduled for Thursday, November 5 at 10am as well as a presale for American Express card holders on Thursday, November 12 at 10am. Ticket prices range from an eye-popping $1875 to $12.25. It makes you wonder if the person who shells out $2000 and the one who forks over a couple of happy meals is seeing the same show.
